Nabil is co-owner and co-founder of the Aquatic Centre Physiotherapy. He completed his Physiotherapy degree at McGill University in 1991. He has over 25 years of experience in private practice treating a variety of orthopaedic and sports injuries.
Nabil’s treatment philosophy will always incorporate postural re-education, education on injury prevention, manual therapy and exercise rehabilitation.
Nabil has a special interest in exercise prescription, gym programs and is dedicated to home care treatments on the North Shore from Deep Cove to Lions Bay.

Denise is the co-owner of Aquatic Centre Physiotherapy. She brings over 25 years of clinical experience to her practice specializing in both manual and manipulative therapy as well as developing extensive expertise in the area of sacroiliac and musculoskeletal dysfunction. Along with her strong manual therapy skill, Denise also utilizes the treatment of IMS (intramuscular stimulation) to address neuropathic pain and pain due to shortened muscles. IMS is a modern form of acupuncture that was developed at the Gunn Institute in Vancouver and is currently taught at UBC. Denise utilizes the principle of pilates to enhance the active rehabilitation programs individually designed for her clients.
In addition to Denise’s clinical experience, she also uses the principles of Pilates to reduce compression on vertebral joints, strengthen the core and improve overall muscular balance. Her extensive sport physiotherapy experiences earned her the position of Deputy Venue Medical Supervisor for the Figure Skating venue at the 2010 Winter Olympics. She has also worked as a team therapist for local and national teams including the position as a physiotherapist for the 2001 World Figure Skating Championships, 2008 Canadian Figure Skating Championships, and 2009 ISU Grand Prix.
As an avid triathlete (Ironman 2003), Denise has developed a sub-specialty working with triathletes and runners including treatment of acute and chronic injuries as well as injury prevention. Both clinical and personal experience has helped Denise to develop her skills to assess running biomechanical errors, improving speed and reducing injuries utilizing video analysis. Denise is a yearly lecturer with the Sun Run-In-Training programs.

Chrys Gonidakis is co-owner and co-founder of the Aquatic Centre Physiotherapy. She graduated from McGill University in 1991. She initially worked at the Montreal Neurological Institute and the Royal Victoria Hospital until she moved to Vancouver in 1993 and has been working in private practice since.
Chrys has 25 years of experience in Orthopaedic and Sports injuries rehabilitation, and has treated patients of all ages.
Chrys’ treatment approach incorporates manual therapy, patient education and exercise prescription. Chrys provides Physiotherapy treatments in home setting upon request within the entire North Shore.

Maryam Amani is a dedicated and highly skilled physiotherapist with over 20 years of experience in both public and private practice. She obtained her physiotherapy degree from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran and brings extensive clinical expertise and a patient-centered approach to the assessment and treatment of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including cervicogenic headaches, post-surgical rehabilitation, and sports-related injuries.
She believes that patient education and injury prevention are essential components of effective, long-term recovery. Her treatment approach combines manual therapy, hands-on techniques, postural re-education, and individualized exercise rehabilitation programs tailored to each patient’s specific needs and goals.
She is committed to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development to ensure her patients receive the highest quality of care. Maryam is a registered member of the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia (CPTBC) and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA).
In addition, Maryam has completed training in IMS/dry needling through Acupuncture Canada and incorporates these techniques when appropriate to support pain relief, muscle recovery, and improved function.
With a compassionate, patient-centered approach, Maryam creates a comfortable environment where patients feel heard, empowered, and motivated throughout their rehabilitation journey. Her goal is to help individuals restore function, reduce pain, and improve their overall quality of life.

Andre Mascarenhas is a Registered Physiotherapist in British Columbia with over 13 years of clinical experience across three countries. After completing postgraduate training in orthopaedic physiotherapy, Andre spent 11 years working in hospital-based settings, where he gained extensive experience managing a wide range of musculoskeletal and post-surgical conditions.
Andre is also certified in Advanced Aquatic Rehabilitation from South Africa and has treated clients with various musculoskeletal and neurological conditions using water-based therapy. He has also delivered health talks on posture and ergonomics for multinational companies.
Andre is particularly passionate about soccer and treating soccer-related injuries in athletes of all ages. During his time in Dubai, he worked as an on-field physiotherapist, providing injury assessment and management for soccer players.
Andre believes in combining evidence-based techniques with individualized care plans to help clients recover efficiently and return to the activities they enjoy. His treatment approach may include Customized exercise programs, Manual therapy – Mulligan/ Maitland,Myofascial Release Technique, Trigger point release, Dry needling, Aquatic rehabilitation and Vestibular rehabilitation.
Outside of work, Andre enjoys playing soccer, cycling, trekking, and spending time with his two-year-old daughter.

Farah is a dedicated physiotherapist in Canada with an academic background in Obstetrics and Gynecology from India, where she completed her Master’s degree. With over a decade of experience in India and the Middle East, particularly Dubai.
In addition to her expertise in women’s health, Farah excels in managing musculoskeletal conditions and post-surgical rehabilitation, particularly in sports and general medicine. She is deeply committed to patient education as a key component of effective treatment.
Outside of the clinic, Farah is a new mother who enjoys swimming.

Laura Andrews graduated from the University of British Columbia and received her Bachelor of Science, Physical Therapy degree in 1995 from the Faculty of Medicine.
Following her graduation from UBC, she worked in various private physiotherapy practices in the Greater Vancouver area. Laura’s primary treatment focus has been with orthopaedic and sports injuries, but she has also worked with neurological conditions and rheumatic diseases, and her treatment population has included all ages from paediatric to geriatric.
Laura joined the OT Consulting/Treatment Services team in 2002 as a locum physiotherapist and has worked on a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians within the occupational rehabilitation department, assessing, treating, coordinating, and assisting injured workers to return to work. She continues with that work at the present time. In 2012 she joined the company’s medical-legal department, and she is now accepted as an expert in the area of Physical Capacity Evaluations by the Supreme Court of British Columbia. She has also recently completed training to perform Cost of Future Care analyses, and this is now added to her repertoire of skills.
Laura continues to be active in private practice and sports physiotherapy, and although she no longer works and travels with provincial and national teams, she continues to be involved in this field. She also serves on the executive committee of one of the largest amateur multi-sports clubs in North America, the Meraloma Club.
She is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, the College of Physical Therapists of British Columbia, and the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia.
